The Divine Journey of Building Lord Venkateshwara Swamy Temple
Building a temple is not just about laying bricks and stones; it is about creating a sacred space where the divine presence can be experienced by all. Our journey began in 2018 when a group of seven dedicated devotees came together with a single vision — to build a temple for Lord Venkateshwara Swamy near Doddaballapura, close to the International Airport in Bangalore. Under the leadership of Sri Sridhar Guruji and with the support of committed trustees, the foundation of this dream was laid.
The search for the perfect land was not easy, but the divine guided us every step of the way. After months of exploration, one acre of land near the serene Gati Subramanya Swamy temple was chosen and registered in the name of the trust on October 22, 2021. This sacred land holds immense spiritual energy, making it the ideal location for the Lord’s abode.
In 2024, we completed the first phase by constructing a small temple where daily poojas and activities are now being conducted. Devotees gather daily to seek blessings, perform rituals, and feel the divine vibrations. The temple is growing day by day, and our next goal is to expand it into a grand temple complex with a Gurukula (spiritual school), Goshala (cow shelter), Annadanam (daily free meals), and continuous pooja activities.

From Vision to Reality: The Birth of a Sacred Dream
The dream of building a temple is not something that happens overnight. It starts as a tiny spark in the hearts of a few blessed souls and grows into a divine mission fueled by faith, determination, and service. In 2018, seven devoted individuals came together with a noble vision — to build a magnificent temple dedicated to Lord Venkateshwara Swamy, the Kaliyuga Daivam (Lord of this age), near Doddaballapura, close to the International Airport in Bangalore.
Led by the spiritual guidance of Sri Sridhar Guruji and with the strong support of Mr. Shivakumar, Mrs. Anitha Shivakumar, Mrs. Suma Sridhar, and others, the trust was officially formed on November 5, 2018. Sri Sridhar Guruji was elected as the President and Mr. Shivakumar was appointed as the Treasurer, marking the beginning of this sacred journey. The purpose was clear — to create a space where people from all walks of life could come and experience the divine blessings of Lord Venkateshwara.
Finding the right land was the first and biggest challenge. The team spent months visiting various locations, praying for divine guidance. Finally, destiny led them to a serene and spiritually charged land near the famous Gati Subramanya Swamy temple in Doddaballapura. With the blessings of the Lord, one acre of land was purchased and registered in the trust's name on October 22, 2021. The land itself seemed to welcome the idea, surrounded by natural beauty and positive vibrations.
Brick by Brick, Prayer by Prayer: The Ongoing Journey
The construction of the temple began with unwavering faith. By 2024, a small but beautiful temple structure was completed. Daily poojas, Suprabhata Sevas, and other activities began to be conducted regularly, filling the area with divine energy. The chanting of mantras, the fragrance of flowers, and the devotion of the priests and devotees have transformed the simple structure into a spiritual powerhouse.
However, this is just the beginning. The vision is much larger — to construct a grand temple complex that includes a Gurukula (for teaching Vedas and traditional knowledge), a Goshala (to care for and protect cows), Annadanam halls (for daily free meals), and a space where regular yagnas, poojas, and festivals will be celebrated on a grand scale. With 80G and 12A certifications in place, devotees who donate will also benefit from tax exemptions. Every donor’s name will be proudly listed on the temple website, and those donating above ₹25,000 will have their names etched forever on the granite walls of the temple, leaving a lasting legacy.
The journey is divine, but the path is built with the love and support of devotees like you. Every prayer, every offering, every blessing is helping to create not just a temple, but a timeless center of devotion, learning, and service for generations to come. Join us in this sacred journey, and let’s build a home for Lord Venkateshwara Swamy together.

🌸 Why Do We Need Temples?
- Spiritual Growth and Guidance: Temples serve as places where individuals can learn about dharma (righteous living), practice devotion, and seek guidance for leading a pure and purposeful life.
- Community and Culture: Temples are the centers of Hindu culture and community gatherings. Festivals, rituals, and events help pass on traditions, stories, and values from one generation to another.
- Preserving Ancient Traditions: They protect and preserve Vedic rituals, chants, arts, and traditions that have been passed down for thousands of years, keeping the spiritual heritage alive.
- Inner Peace and Healing: In today’s stressful world, temples provide a peaceful sanctuary. Sitting in a temple, even for a few minutes, helps quiet the mind and brings a sense of calm and joy.
- Charity and Service: Many temples engage in social welfare activities like Annadanam (free food distribution), education, Goshala (cow protection), and healthcare — serving humanity as an act of devotion.
